Ron Pietila, who was instrumental in helping establish girls soccer as a sanctioned sport in 1982, told The San Diego Union-Tribune he is stepping down as coach of the Bonita Vista program.
Pietila talked about his 25-year career, a pair of section titles and 500-plus career victories with the Union-Tribune.
